Beautiful Half-Covered-Ground-Floor Home Design with Incredible Andes Mountain Sights

This incredible house is located at the Andean foothill in Santiago, Chile, on a 5000-sq meters site with pure 100% slope and sights. This house was built for a couple who love outdoor life and perfect landscape, also, in a marriage without children but anticipated for a growing family. To overcome the challenge of the site, it was important to plant the foundation firmly in the ground and built the parallelepiped structure as light as possible. The entire volume is 27 meters long, 6 meters wide and 3 meters height, superposed in parallel arrangement to the benchmark elevation. The first volume is half buried and acts as a base for the terrace and the living room to create a half-covered ground floor that works as a mirador, instead of a traditional full-covered house. The ground floor is axially divided into service rooms (bathrooms and kitchen) and served spaces, the services face inside the hill while the rooms, dinning room and the kitchen are designed to capture the incredible sights and sunshine lighting. A corridor, the only horizontal interior circulation for this house separates the services and the rooms while a system of yards was set there to increase larger visual width of the adjacent spaces. At the sight concrete, the rooms’ foundation volume is worked on while the access volume is defined by the interesting light metallic shaping with canvas closures to possibly close the exterior space.
