Located in northern Netherlands, in a small town of only 1,500 houses, this modern barn house looks unique due to its raised underground floor and black coloring. Designed by architects at JagerJanssen Architects, the ground level of this house is raised one meter above the ground creating a podium that supports the main volume. The roof and façade of the house are made of anthracite-colored corrugated sheets. Although the house design is quite closed, the roof has some windows to invite natural lights in. This house has beautiful courtyard and the wood entry stairs are placed at each side.
