This house is a real challenge in creativity for the architects at Tyler Engle Architects, the tight site and tight budget presented a handicap to build a building. The solution was to build the house as a system of modules, something like a modification of the traditional Japanese architecture Tatami mat module. The system is constructed of a 12 x 16 feet grid system and covered by 4 x 8 feet plywood sheets. The final result is quite stunning, this column-supported house is beautiful, the color and texture combination of the façade do make the house charming, even though the materials are not the best in quality and appearance. The modern interior is also warmth and inviting, the neutral color is combined with the darker wooden floor. The interior is also bright, giving a sense of spaciousness.
