Light, Bright and Airy, they are the three main impressions of the home which are wrapped in a simple architectural design with white corrugated façade and topped with corrugated metal roof. This1.400-sq.-ft home is located on the Big Island, Hawaii. This “Lavaflow 2” house is supported by the concrete slab, while the slab itself is cantilevered above the ground level. At the sea facing side, the house features floor to ceiling windows and doors to capture the awesome ocean’s view. At the opposite side, the architects of Architect Craig Steely built a terrace with two open sides. Two other sides are covered with half height walls. The slanted roof and the walls are creating an open and airy terrace. For the interior design, walls and ceilings of this house are made of wood while some of the furniture are made of light material, plastic. But, there are also some “serious” furniture made of heavier materials like the sofa in the living room. There, the room is bright and inviting thanks to the extensive use of glass as a cladding material.
