This interesting house design is really built on the river, so it was needed to raise the house level via steel column to deal with flood. The house itself has three elements, bedrooms, guest accommodation, and living room. This is however, one of the wildest sites to build a house. Unfortunately we don’t get some important information about let say, how to get the building license, or the plumbing and sewage design for instance. If you are going to want to build anything like this, please visit the architect site here. Another description from the architect: “A dark, zinc-clad wing is pushed forward to receive an entrance staircase that slices up into an open timber lined hood, with a glazed room to the side containing a guest suite and gym. The stair arrives onto a balcony and entrance – a central hall space – this is the day room, dedicated to outdoor living that leads out onto a large deck. Following the zig-zag of the pinwheel, a staircase then leads down to a garden deck, with boardwalk that arrives at a landing stage on the river’s edge. The house is to be steel framed, with timber stud infill; cedar and zinc-clad, with aluminum framed windows and single-ply roofing.”
Ok, ok it doesn't look as extreme as it used to be from this angle...although this building is still one of the most extremes.
can you see what I mean? It seems that the house is becoming a real river house when it is flooded, but we would never know when the river is quiet angry right?
