The most interesting aspect from this building is its altitude at 8500 feet on the Rocky Mountains. It was once considered nearly impossible to build a house there, because the terrain was dominated by granite stones. But the challenge was overcome and the result, as you can see here, is worth more than the effort. The granite stones which were the main challenge to build the house are now becoming the part of the house, like the one you see under the stair. To add more beautiful touches for the granite stones, the interior color is done in golden color with some furniture with the same themes. The architect, Gibson Architects says: ”Using what was considered by most to be an unbuildable granite outcropping, I took advantage of the variety and cascading effect of the natural granite to create a house which evolved into seven levels revolving around the main central fireplace built into the largest granite boulder.” Frederick Gibson + Associates Architecture.
