tecARCHITECTURE, a Switzerland and Los Angeles based architecture built this house in Switzerland with a refined traditional design of a Swiss chalet. The pitched roof might not resemble the modernist style but the large glazing does. This three-stories house design or four with the underground garage is designed to capture the views of the lake below while optimizing the natural lighting. The underground garage is built at the street level and topped by courtyard with grass, vegetations, pools and an outdoor dining area. Partially, due to the site’s slope, the main living areas are built above the garage level and are situated at the rear of the site. These main areas can be accessed by the beautiful-little-red bridge just behind the house or a stairway that encircles the house at the left. This house has a terrace at every level which facing the lake, behind them are the modern interiors that are flooded by lights thanks to the extensive glazing. Under the traditional pitched roof is a modern bedroom with double size bed, a plasma TV and views.
