Modern Villa Architecture - Villa Ypenburg III by BBVH Architecture

Standing proudly on the corner of a waterfront, the architecture of this modern villa is an eye catcher in its neighborhood in The Hague, Netherlands. Firstly, this modern villa is black, secondly, it has flat roof and terraces for its upper level floors. The shape is quite unusual, especially if we consider the pitched roof and the brick color of the neighboring houses / villas. The shape is simply a cube, but with some sophistications. This villa does not blend; it stands out nicely in its environment. This modern villa is a nice architectural surprise in the neighborhood. BBVH Architecture.

Modern Barn House Design with Black Façade and Elevated Ground Floor in the Netherlands

Located in northern Netherlands, in a small town of only 1,500 houses, this modern barn house looks unique due to its raised underground floor and black coloring. Designed by architects at JagerJanssen Architects, the ground level of this house is raised one meter above the ground creating a podium that supports the main volume. The roof and façade of the house are made of anthracite-colored corrugated sheets. Although the house design is quite closed, the roof has some windows to invite natural lights in. This house has beautiful courtyard and the wood entry stairs are placed at each side.

Modern House Design For Art Collectors – Villa Rolling

This house is located in Kudelstaart, Netherlands and is built for an art-collector couple, the Dutch architect Paul de Ruiter built the house with stylish glass cladding first floor to suit the couple’s taste. This cladding is not only for aesthetic purpose but it has a purpose to capture the views of the nearby Lake Westeinderplas as well. This volume is topped by a volume of wood that houses the art collection. In this volume, there are windows which can be closed completely that also open to the lake views, interestingly, these windows are the opening for an indoor terrace separated by glass with the rest of the interior where most of the art collections are stored and decorated this house’s modern interior. Modern Villa Design in the Netherlands – Villa 1

When the “Best Private Interior Design Award” of Dutch Design Award went to this house, we can see here that the reason should be the innovative interior design of glass and mirror. This clean interior is sleek, curved in modern style and when we add the lights, mirrors, wooden closet and minimalist design, it’s bright, inviting and giving a sense of spaciousness. This modern house design itself is no less in beauty and aesthetics, the white façade is stunning with its contemporary shape. The white flooring for the porch is really sleek combined with the floor to ceiling windows. The architects of Powerhouse Company built this house in two levels, but the first level is buried in the ground and, different from the upper level, the underground level is more conventional in exterior design, it just features garage doors and uses fewer glasses. Nevertheless, the underground garage’s entrance design is impressive. This villa is located in the woods in Arnhem, the Netherlands.

Watervilla Kortenhoef

When you see the pictures below, you might think that the house floats on the water, the fact is that this house is anchored to the ground but the ground is close to the water, visually creating a ‘floating-look’ for the house. There’s also an underground level which is buried completely in the ground, this level houses private areas like bedrooms and bathrooms. The placement of the private areas in the ground floor is understandable since the ground level is clad with glass and is dedicated to enjoy the surrounding views. This house was completed in the end of 2008 and was designed by architects of Waterstudio.NL.

Modern Lake Home Design – The S House

This house was designed to fit with its landscape without changing it. The architects of Grosfeld Van der Velde Architecten have built the house in simple two stories form, but, the first floor is half buried underground. This house, the “S House” is located on the edge of the Asterdplas in the Hague district meadows in Breda. We don’t know why the architects named the house with “S”, but this house is really beautiful, this house also features large windows that capture all of the lake’s views. Inside, this house’s interior design is done in minimalist style with neutral tones making the modern interior feels spacious. This house also features a wooden deck to enjoy the lake’s views and fresh air.

Modern House with Shiny Yellow Façade

Actually from the first picture we can see three interesting houses but since only the yellow house has its information in the web we could only write about this one. This house is designed by VMX Architects with the main concept of combining patio villa and manor house, or domus. The most interesting part of the house is the shiny yellow façade, the tiles used are bright and reflect light very well as if the surfaces are layered with plastics. The house is divided in three levels with the first level houses the storage, the play room, and entrance. The second level is divided in two levels with the kitchen at the first level and the lounge is just placed above it. The private space, the bedrooms and bathroom are situated on the third floor. The given name for the house is S-House and is located in one of the island of IJburg.
