The building was built with continuity to the line of typical construction of New Zealand, which has not too much impact on the landscape, just as the client’ request, The building tries to interpret its location and the discovery of landscape as a unique repository of flora, fauna and history of the local population.

Modern Beach House Design in New Zealand – The Waterford Lodge

This house is located in New Zealand and was designed by architects of Sumich Architects. Designed as a vacation house, this house’s design combined two personalities. The grey color and the shape of the house represents formal style while the interior design, white furniture, some dark coloring, and the floor’s design represents casual lifestyle. But the result of this industrial chic house is stunning, the large glasses of windows and sliding doors clad the entire dining and living room making the modern interior bright and airy. There’s an interesting feature in the living room, the wood-fired pizza oven will be a favorite accompanied by the gourmet BBQ and the trendy fish smoker. For 10 people which can be accommodated in this 5 bedrooms beach house, the house also features a private access to the beach including the entire facilities like a jetty, pontoon and boat parking area. via

Modern Long and Low Mountain Home Design

When I saw these pictures at the first time, this house has impressed me with its ‘straightness’, the low, long house looks very enchanting for me with its black, white and grey color combination of the façade, and the glowing interior. The black façade is actually made of corrugated metal and it blends nicely with the macrocarpa tree in the distance. The aesthetic appeal of this house also comes from its low and long design. From one side, the house is facing the flat meadows but at the opposite side, the low design is nearly concealed in the multiple grounds’ elevations of this open landscape in New Zealand. Inside, the modern interior of this house is flooded with lights and views of the distant mountain range. But, if the owners do not want to enjoy the views at some moments, this modern interior itself is enjoyable, you could find many beautiful artwork there. Beautiful Cliff Prefab House in New Zealand

Recycle is now necessary in saving our world, so any attempt should be valued as a good contribution for our planet. These container boxes could be wasted if the Industrial Design lecturer at Victoria University in Wellington Ross Stevens did not construct them. Three container were then stacked together to form a three level house. With dark coloring, this house is definitely stands out from its environment. The interesting part of the interior design is the designer preserves the original cliff inside the house next to the chair. This cliff seems have been cut but aesthetically, this cliff just looks as if it is in original form. Other parts of the house are simple but beautiful, the modern kitchen is beautifully combined with simple furniture in the dining room nearby. Modern Hillside Cottage Design in New Zealand – The Turn Point Lodge

This wonderful hillside cottage is located in New Zealand and was designed by architects of Tennent + Brown Architects. The cottage is owned by two French brothers and is built in a cluster of individual cabins to accommodate relaxation and rejuvenation. There are two separate bedroom/bathroom/study quarters, and a shared kitchen/main living space. If you ever wonder on how they built this cottage, the answer is they delivered the materials by helicopter and built them on site. Having a slope site and the majestic mountain and bay views, the architects built the cottage suspended over the ground. There are at least two advantages for this design, first is because this high building has unobstructed view over the bay and the second is the easiness for the foundation’s construction. This house seems is being mounted on the decks, decks which also become the best spot there to enjoy the incredible outdoors. The choosing for the colors of the building have been dictated by the landscape while the stutters which cover the glass enclosed living spaces are intended to give some shade from the hot afternoon sun. Well, at least for this location, privacy shouldn’t be an issue. Having a cottage to admire a view was not enough for the architects, the design should respect and preserve the nature as well, so this house also features photovoltaics cells, rainwater harvesting system and passive ventilation.
