This Sustainable 3-season home is located on a 2.8-acre island property in the Canadian Shield in Pointe Au Baril, just three hours north of Toronto and was designed by architects Agathom Co. the goal of this home design was delivering creature comfort but with a little class and low environmental impact. The low impact on environment was translated into the use of reclaimed wood, PV panels that supply power to the water pump, and locally sourced stones for the beautiful Rumford fireplace. The home design itself is really interesting with the focal point is represented by the slanted asphalt roof. The façade is made of wood, actually the wood is used almost everywhere including for the interior. There, the barn-like interior uses wood for the flooring, ceiling and the walls, maybe except for the fireplace. The natural beauty of the house should be what the architects call “creature comfort,” and the “with a little class.” Agathom Co.
