This barn house is a renovation of an old barn house in Zutphen, the Netherlands which has finished by The Amsterdam-based architecture firm SeARCH. The original home was also including a livestock barn extending perpendicularly to the main house creating a T-shaped building. The architects demolished the livestock barn and building a new wood-clad extension with skylight and glass walls. This new extension houses an open concept kitchen, a workroom, a garden area and guest accommodation. The original brick house is occupied by the living areas while to join the two buildings, an entrance and the open-concept kitchen lead deep enough into the extension.
