Driven by the majestic views of the surroundings, this modern-house-design features a rooftop terrace to enjoy the views. The slope-site has made the architects at DA4 Architects built the house in two layered levels even though the façade and the roof tend to follow the terrain’s contour. This design resulting in a slanted roof with the same angle as the terrain’s angle, this roof is then created as a rooftop courtyard that slides down to the rooftop terrace. This terrace is accessed via the second volume that is built on the higher level. This volume is different from the first volume which follows the shape of the terrain, the second is built on the flat stone base and is not following the terrain. The interior is done in beautiful way, the extensive use of wood gives warmth but neutral atmosphere. The main theme, the views is captured via large glass windows and doors. This house is located in Valparaiso, Chile.
