This lake house is located in British Columbia, Canada and was designed by architect Fook Weng Chan. The house features a wide curved stone wall, a glass gate along with the stone and trees at the front, a design that blends the house with its environment. This house boasts terraced courtyard at the rear, grey façade, curved balcony and roof. Under this roof are floor to ceiling glass windows and doors that capture the views of the lake. Inside, the elegant double height dining and living room are flooded with lights thanks to the extensive glass cladding. Other parts of the interior use wood in almost every element, from the flooring, walls, furniture and the beautiful staircases. There is a beautiful yet “natural” shower that is located just behind the front-side wall, this shower is topped by glass roof and covered by the massive stone walls along with the wooden deck. This modern house design is a great inspiration for those who want a rustic yet elegant mountain house design that blends with its nature.
