Located in the greenery in Woodville, Virginia, and is built on a slope, the house features slanted roof that rises as the ground level lowers. There, at the point where the ground level is lowest, the architects built large windows that put you just in front and in the center of the surrounding views. Other architects’ visions have been translated into a simple yet inviting design, the house features rustic style exterior and fully furnished and polished interiors. Two different atmospheres in one home design. There, for the interior, the home/cottage features wood and stone flooring, granite countertops in the kitchen and exposed, colored wood beams. But, admiring nature is also preserving nature as well, so the architects have featured some “green” addition to the home. You could get a south-facing sunroom with its slate floor to absorb sun to heat the cottage when necessary. There’s an overhanging roof which provides cooling for the cottage. In this cottage also, you could find a closed-loop geothermal heat pump. This “Red Mountain House’ also Features public areas in the south and private areas in the north. Architects Carter+Burton.
