The intention in building the house is to provide affordable housing. The house itself is built on 600 square-foot site in Jakarta with simple yet durable materials, steel, wood, and glass. The design is also simple, the frames are connected together and clad with raw cement walls, concrete and glass without polishes, a real bare bone house. For the interior design, the architects at SUB. Studio for visionary design focused mostly in integrating the interior with the outdoor terrace, all rooms are facing the garden and a large sliding glass door provides an easy access between the spaces, lights and breezes. Being located in tropical climate, the house utilizes breezes to keep the rooms cool and there are 30 cm gaps on the windows to circulate the air. This price will not build a house in US or Western Europe but if your idea is to build a house within limited budget, you could follow this house to build anything necessary first before giving more aesthetic touches which you could do one by one. You could also look at the kitchen and see how the simple furnishing would look for this simple house.
